TRS 014: How to Pay Off $20,000 of Debt Through Travel with Mitch Loar

I am really excited for today’s episode because it’s with my good friend Mitch Loar from Budget Travel Secrets and we got to discuss the crazy experiment that Mitch and his family are performing this summer through which they are going to try and pay off $20,000 of debt by long term traveling.

The reason I am so pumped about this conversation is that this is one of the biggest misconceptions that people have about travel. They assume that it’s really expensive and that they need to save up thousands of dollars to be able to afford even a short stay in a place like Europe.

In this episode, you are going to find out why that couldn’t be farther from the truth. You’ll hear about how Mitch and his family are going to spend several months in Europe and not only do so affordably but so cheaply that they hope to pay off all of that $20,000 of debt

We got to dive into the strategies that Mitch and his family use to fly for free between the US and Europe, how they are able to find completely free long term accommodations to stay at, and why settling down in the US after having a baby was the worst advice Mitch has taken.
